Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to sponsor a child?
Child sponsorship is $40.00 per month or $480.00 per year. At different times during the year, we may collect a special donation for such items as Christmas gifts. One hundred percent of the money you contribute will be spent to care for your sponsored child.
What does my donation provide for my sponsored child?
The children living at the Oasis Children’s Home have the opportunity to find love, food, shelter, education and Jesus Christ.
Your monthly sponsorship gift will provide your child with:
- A safe place to live
- An education
- Nourishing meals
- Clean water
- Health care
- Spiritual growth
- Opportunities to play and develop
How can I make a contribution?
You can make payments in either of the following ways:
- By check or money order
Please send your donation to:

How long will my child sponsorship last?
You control the length of the sponsorship. Many sponsors support a child as long as they are continuing their education. Some sponsors support a child for a specific length of time, such as one year.
In rare cases, sponsorship of a child may change due to unforeseen circumstances. When issues arise Reaching International will inform the sponsors of the issue; and if the child has been removed, we will find another child for you to sponsor.
If I must discontinue my child sponsorship, what happens to the child?
If you must discontinue your sponsorship, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can find another sponsor for your child.
Will my child write to me?
Yes, your child will write to you at least twice a year. We will facilitate the flow of letters to and from the children. Any letters you wish to send should be sent to our office so that we can review them and send them along with others to reduce costs. We do strongly recommend that you also write to your child.
Are there any tips for writing to my child?
Yes, you can find helpful tips by clicking here.
What other ways can I learn about my child?
While you will be receiving and sending letters to and from your child, you can also join our monthly newsletter and join our Facebook group. We try to keep our sponsors informed of any new events or prayer requests with these tools.
May I send gifts to my child?
The best gift is your letter. You may send a letter at any time to our offices and we will forward it on. You may even send a birthday card to us for your child.
However, unless otherwise requested by the staff here at Reaching International, we would prefer that you refrain from sending gifts. The reason behind this is twofold. First, if one child receives something and another child does not, their feelings can be hurt. Secondly, the cost of shipping items to India is expensive and there are often customs charges that the children’s home must pay when receiving items of this nature.
Is prayer important in sponsorship?
Yes, prayer is important and makes a difference! Please pray for their safety, health, education and spiritual development. The children will be praying for you too.
Are my contributions to Hope 4 A Child tax-deductible?
Yes, Reaching International is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization.
What is Reaching International and are they affiliated with any church or denomination?
Reaching International is a non-denominational organization established to reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Reaching International accomplishes its mission by serving the local Church worldwide through an active network of global partnerships. These partnerships are united by a passion for souls and a determination to fulfill the great commission.
